More Buddhist Wedding information

Because Buddha teaching sees marriage as a social rather than a religious occasion, there is not set wedding service in Buddha faith. It sees marriage as a partnership of equals and should be the harmonious union of different capabilities of the couple. Most Buddhists set their wedding ceremonies according to the local custom and culture. That is why you will require our assistance as wedding organizers to manage the entire ceremony. In fact, the nature of wedding ceremony according to Buddha teaching is rather secular as it can take place in a registrar office or some Buddhist temples licensed as a legal marriage venue.

In Bali, some couples choose perform the civil ceremony first and then continued with having a Buddhist blessing in a temple. The shift from the profane civil institution however needs diligent wedding planners to perform smoothly. We will also be able to help you plan the exact date for the religious ceremony although basically the Buddhist can marry at any date and any time. There is no forbidden days in which Buddhists are not allowed to marry. Form filling tasks are not present too during the ceremony as they have been dealt at the registrar office.

As Bali wedding organizers we will be able to find a Buddhist temple in Bali so that it will not be difficult to know whether or not the temple will be available at the selected date and time. A meeting with the monk of the temple is not necessary we will not need to conduct blessing rehearsal. Since Buddha teaching seeks for harmony, there is no problem if the guests come from different religious background. However, the guests should respect the Buddhists monks in the temple and remove their shoes before entering the shrine. As there is no set rule in the teaching, the couple as well as the guests can wear any style of dress.

As wedding planners will be able to arrange the order of the entire ceremony rather easily in the shrine room. There, the monks will chant Buddhist sacred texts in Pali language and the couple as well as the guests should observe and listen. However, they are not supposed to participate during the chant so that service sheets are not necessary. During this blessing ceremony, there is only the Buddhist monks themselves since confetti, choir or organist are not allowed in Buddhist culture. But the temple allows the ceremony to be photographed or captured with video camera.

What happens to the moments after the blessing is up to you but most Buddhist will hold a reception party. Buddhist temple in  Bali is called a Vihara. We as Bali wedding organizers will provide wedding ceremony packages that may include the main ceremony itself as well as the subsequent reception. We will also provide assistance for the administrative tasks such as preparing the necessary documents like certificate of marriage from Buddhist priest.
