A Protestant wedding ceremony is determined by the theology and practice held by the couple who want to perform it. There are many teachings in this religion such as Lutherans, Baptist, Episcopalians, Methodists, Presbyterians and others. However, most of these sects agree that a marriage reflects the way the Church interacts with Christ. Thus the guests participate in serving the will of God and the proclamation of the Lordship of Jesus. Despite the differences in the basic theology and practice.
With us as your wedding planners you will have more freedom to choose the date and time to perform the event as there is no restriction in those matters except during major religious holidays. A protestant who previously has been married and divorced is granted the permission to marry again. In a case where one of the partners is not baptized as a Christian, he or she will need a dispensation from Church officials.
To avoid conflict in the scheduling, we should consult the Rector and the priest. This consultation will be helpful too especially when one of you is a divorced person as the priest will need a consent from the Bishop to solemnize the procession. As Protestant teaching sees marriage as a deliberate and serious act, all couples must join the pre-marital counseling which is mandatory as a preparation. In Bali. a Protestant marriage is considered legal as long as the Celebration and Blessing of the Marriage is performed by a priest or a bishop. It is also these ministers that are considered to perform the nuptial blessing and celebrating the Holy Eucharist.
If both a priest and a bishop are present at the event, it is the bishop that will pronounce the blessing and perform the Eucharist. The charge, meanwhile, can be delivered by a deacon or an assisting priest. The assisting priest can also read the Gospel, ask for the Declaration of Consent and conduct other functions during the event. During the ceremony, guests are required to participate in the hymn and other procession as requested by the priest performing the service. While the Church can provide the musicians, the couple and their wedding organizers can arrange to hire other musicians.
The Protestant wedding ceremony itself by nature is a religious occasion. You will be permitted to bring the civil officials into the ceremony to perform the necessary civil matters inside the Church. Confetti in some sects is permitted but other sects may not permit such celebration. The reception for the marriage should be performed outside the main room of the Church.
